Portal de Belen en las casas

Algunas familias en Espana montan una representacion de un Portal de Belen con figuras navidenas. Es una escena que intentan presentarnos el momento en que los Reyes Magos llegan para adorar al nino nacido Jesus. Se puede ver una imagen de pastores, la virgen, los animales....un instante muy entranable y bello. En algunos lugares de Espana se hacen Belenes vivientes de personas reales.

Some families in Spain put up the nativity scene with typicala Christmas figurines. It represents the moment during which the Three Wise Men come for the birth of the Baby Jesus. In the scene you can see shepards, the Virgin Mary, animals....a moving and beautiful event. In some parts of Spain there are living Nativity Scenes that you can visit with.

Mantecados, polvorones, turrón....

 ¡Hola! Os mando unas imagenes de los pasteles tipicos de Navidad en Espana

Here you have some typical Spanish Christmas cakes:

Tambien tenemos el dia de Reyes un Roscon, que es un pastel relleno de crema con una sorpresa dentro. La tradicion dice que si te toca la sorpresa tendras suerte (o, actualmente, tendras que pagarlo:)

We also hace the Roscon de Reyes on january 6th. It is a typical cake with delicious cream inside. There is a small in the cream but nobody knows where exactly. Tradition says that if you find it you will be very lucky that year (nowadays, if you find it you have to pay for the Roscon:)

Os dejo unas fotos de los edificios de Sevilla y el cielo azul que tenemos la mayoría de los días, aunque hoy estuvo gris y con niebla. Me gusta pasear, especialmente los días soleados.

Here you are a couple of pictures of buildings in the city centre of Seville and the blue sky we can see most of days, although it was grey and foggy today. I like going for walks, especially on sunny days.

School uniform: yes or no? / Uniforme para el cole: ¿sí o no?

 Today I asked my students in 5th grade if they would like to wear a school uniform. Half classed said yes because they explained that they wouldn't need to think what to wear every day; and there wouldn't be comparisons about students' clothes. The other half said they like their clothes and prefer to wear them. What about you?

Hoy pregunté a mis estudiantes de 5º si a ellos/as les gustaría llevar uniforme al colegio. La mitad de la clase dijo que sí y explicaron que, de esa forma, no necesitarían pensar cada día qué se van a poner; y que con uniforme no habría comparaciones entre la ropa de cada uno/a. La otra mitad dijo que a ellos/as les gusta su ropa y que prefieren llevarla. ¿Qué opináis vosotros?
