 Hi, girls and boys! / ¡Hola, chicos y chicas!

Os dejo unas fotos de los edificios de Sevilla y el cielo azul que tenemos la mayoría de los días, aunque hoy estuvo gris y con niebla. Me gusta pasear, especialmente los días soleados.

Here you are a couple of pictures of buildings in the city centre of Seville and the blue sky we can see most of days, although it was grey and foggy today. I like going for walks, especially on sunny days.

School uniform: yes or no? / Uniforme para el cole: ¿sí o no?

 Today I asked my students in 5th grade if they would like to wear a school uniform. Half classed said yes because they explained that they wouldn't need to think what to wear every day; and there wouldn't be comparisons about students' clothes. The other half said they like their clothes and prefer to wear them. What about you?

Hoy pregunté a mis estudiantes de 5º si a ellos/as les gustaría llevar uniforme al colegio. La mitad de la clase dijo que sí y explicaron que, de esa forma, no necesitarían pensar cada día qué se van a poner; y que con uniforme no habría comparaciones entre la ropa de cada uno/a. La otra mitad dijo que a ellos/as les gusta su ropa y que prefieren llevarla. ¿Qué opináis vosotros?

Tooth Fairy or a Mouse. Una hada de los dientes o un ratoncito!

 In the UK, when when a child loses a tooth, they leave it either under their  pillow or under a rug in the lounge. The tooth fairy leaves us some money...usually £1 but some children get more!

En el Reino Unido, cuando un niño se le cae un diente, normalmente el niño lo deja debajo de su almohada, o debajo de la alfombra. Cuando el niño está durmiendo, la hada de los dientes viene y deja £1 para el niño o aún más dinero si tiene suerte! £1 es normal!!
 

EL RATONCITO PÉREZ

 Por cierto, un pajarito me ha dicho que queréis saber si en España tenemos Tooth Fairy (o hada de los dientes)... Pues no. Pero tenemos algo similar: se llama el Ratoncito Pérez. Cuando se nos cae un diente, lo ponemos debajo de la almohada y el Ratoncito Pérez viene por la noche para llevárselo y, a cambio, dejarnos algo de dinero o un pequeño regalito. ¿Qué os deja vuestra Tooth Fairy?

By the way, a little bird told me that you all wanted to know if we have a Tooth Fairy. The answer is... No, we don't; but we have something similar called Mr. Pérez Mouse. We leave the tooth under the pillow and he comes while we sleep at night, takes it and leaves us some cash, or a little gift. What does the Tooth Fairy bring you?

¡Hola desde España! / Hello everyone from Spain!

Soy la maestra Pilar y os mando fotos de los regalos en mi casa el día de Reyes (el 6 de enero). Algunas familias tienen regalos de Papá Noel, otras de los Reyes, y otras de los dos; pero a mi casa sólo vienen los Reyes Magos. La próxima semana os contaremos qué visita recibe cada estudiante...

El día de Reyes abrimos los regalos y desayunamos Roscón de Reyes. El mío tenía nata y trufa. Viene con una corona y mi perro Dalí fue el rey de la casa.

I'm Pilar, the teacher of English of your friends. Here you can see all the presents that the Three Wise Men brought for me and my mother. Santa doesn't come to my house, although he visits some other families... Next week we will let you know if he visits any of my students... In this pictures you can also see something that we have for breakfast after opening the presents. It's a "roscón", like a huge donut filled with cream, custard cream, chocolate... It has little gifts inside and there is a lima bean as well. The person who gets it has to pay for the roscón, ha ha! The roscón comes with a crown (like the one the Three Wise Men have) and my dog Dalí got to be the king yesterday.

And here you are two videos of my dogs opening their presents, because they are part of the family and get one too. It was a bone to chew and it tasted like peanut. They loved it!

Aquí podéis ver a mis perros abriendo sus regalos, porque son parte de la familia y ellos también reciben un regalo. Era un hueso con sabor a cacahuete. ¡Les encantó!
